"Nature out of Chaos"
Paintings created during 2019 using his "chaos" approach for free-flowing pigments over which he layers realistic images of animals and birds, capturing them in an almost abstract, naturalistic background
MICHAEL SPRAGUE
Recent porcelain and stoneware ceramics.
While he has a repertoire of shapes for vases, bowls, decanters and lidded pots, Michael continues to develop different forms that show off the crystals in his glazes. He has developed and modified some of these glazes for different effects and has introduced variations on traditional, rich-red, ox-blood glazes for use in the electric kiln.
